BUSINESS FORWARD is a new European Social Fund Project with up to 100% funding available for a range of business management training schemes and accredited qualifications.
The project is exclusively available to rural businesses based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly working in agriculture, animal care, animal technology, aquaculture, environmental conservation, equine, farriery, fencing, fisheries management, floristry, game conservation, land-based engineering, horticulture, landscaping, sports turf, forestry and veterinary nursing. Both employers and employees can benefit from the programme.
Specialist Skills Broker, Verity Biddick, has been employed by Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for the environmental and land-based industries, to help deliver Business Forward in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly working with different organisations and professionals in the county, including Agri-BIP, Duchy College and the Rural Business School.
Whether you want to start a new business enterprise, expand your business, assess if an investment is worthwhile or gain key skills to manage staff effectively, Business Forward can offer funded support.
Trained industry experts are ready to help. Course studies leading to business management qualifications can be tailored to suit your individual business needs. Expert business coaching is available one-to-one at your place of work.

Business Forward also supports apprenticeships in Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly in a range of rural sector businesses. Apprenticeships are a package of learning whilst the apprentice is employed in a vocation and can offer employers a valuable and committed team member.
Apprenticeships provide high quality vocational training to meet employers’ demands for capable and motivated young people. As well as training for the job on the job, a wide range of broader skills are also developed, such as communication skills, IT, problem solving and working with others.
